"I AM the good Shepherd; the good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep"
John 10:11

Day 36

Exodus 19-21

We know that we are not waiting for a kingdom on this earth or waiting for the people group of Israel to gain anymore then they would have apart from faith,  for many scriptures make it very clear.
The  conditionality of the promise we see here in chapter 19 "if" is another scripture making it clear once again those that are called are His by faith not by race or any other means. Grace alone to the glory of the Father.
Romans 2:28,29; Galatians 6:15,16

Day 33

Exodus 10-12

Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver and gold from your futile way of life inherited
 from your fore fathers,
But with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world,
but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
1 Peter 18-21

Day 31

Day 29

Genesis 48-50

We have completed two books of the bible, only 64 to go and then start again.
Praise the Lord that we may freely feed on His word and that we are able to do it together.
When I am able I will put New Testament clear text here that flows with what we are reading. Please do the same in the comments when you are able. It is important to keep in mind that Christ has fulfilled the shadows we see here
in the Old Testament. Not just the prophecy but the law its self.

Day 22

Genesis 30-31
If your getting  bogged down in Old Testiment reading read Romans 9 it explains some of what we have been reading here.

"And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, even us, who
he also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles."

Day 21

Genesis 27-29

Saturday, August 19, 2017

Day 19

Genesis 22-24

"Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "and to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "and to your seed," that is Christ.
Galatians 3:16
I would suggest reading all of Galatians 3

Thursday, August 17, 2017

Day 17

Genesis 16-18
Note in 17 "multitude of nations" "...you shall keep My covenant you and your descendants ..." We see the promise to nations not just one nation here already in Genesis and the conditional aspect of the covenant.
18 "all the nations of the earth will be blessed."

Day 16

Genesis 12-15

"For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." .........  Just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to who God credits righteousness apart from works:... Romans 4:3,6

I would recommend reading all of Romans 4 Wonderful to see the teaching books bring rich understanding to the Old Testament. Remember Hebrews 1, in these last days He has spoken to us in His son.

Colossians 1:17,  Hebrews 1:3, Deuteronomy 10:17

That We May Know Him

Day 2
Genesis 4-5

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.... Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth. John 17:3,17

Chronological Bible Reading

Day 1
The glory of creation. Genesis 1-3
Hebrews 1:1,2  God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son Whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world...

Amazing to think of our savior as creator John 1:1-5 is another Scripture that speeks to this beautiful truth.
On our journey we will be in the Old Testament for a long time, it is important to keep in mind that he spoke long ago through the old but in these last days He speaks to us through Christ. It is amazing to see God work in history and to see the types and shadows unfold, all pointing to Christ. God is speaking to us now in the new testament may I suggest Hebrews 1 today as well.
