Day 30 Exodus 1-3

We have come through two powerful books of the Word of God. Now we enter Exodus! May the Lord bless all of us as we seek Him in His word!!

  1. God said to Moses, ("The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush" ... "God called to him from the midst of the bush....") "I AM WHO I AM" ... Did God just talk to Moses through Jesus... and even show him that They are one? Such peace in knowing that God is I AM !!!

  2. Exodus 3:10-16 is very powerful to me.

Moses first says, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?"

First, God answers that He will be with Moses.

Then Moses says that he is going to the sons of Israel and what should he say if they ask "what is his name?" God answers:

14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
15 God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you 'This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.
16 "Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, "I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt.

To me, these verses (14-16) are huge and powerful and speak loud and clear. I am struck by the booming voice of God here. God first says He will be with Moses, and then He loudly (I can imagine) declares His name and His concern for His people.

    Hallelujah!

  3. Like Heather, I see Christ as the visual agent and stating that He is I AM which is God; and I believe the trinity is shown in that the Holy Spirit opens Moses to this exchange. As a matter of fact, I really never thought about it before, but the Trinity is always present, isn't It?Powerful
You can see this as a foreshadowing of the rescue of mankind by THE KINSMAN REDEEMER.
Notice also that God Himself put Israel into the predicament they were in. Does He put us in predicaments also so that we will cry out to Him and depend on Him and Him alone? We have been rescued and now our job is to throw off the bondage of sin and bring God's word to others.
