Day 35 Exodus Chapters 16-18

Friends - let's encourage each other in our daily "Eating Bread Together" to read through the Bible this year! God has been working mightily and we are excited to see what He will continue to do the remainder of this year. To God be the glory!

  1. I read the chapters and then had a concept (I have never noticed) jump out at me! What do you think about Jethro, Moses father-in-law, when he observed Moses all that Moses did for the people, Jethro counseled Moses to teach some of the most upright men to judge the smaller disputes and bring to large disputes to Moses. Are these the first "elders" and "deacons" in the Bible? I never noticed this before.

Also, the manna always amazes me - how the people complained about it or tried to hoard it, even though it was perfect food from Heaven meant for the day God gave it.

God was (is) so kind to continue to take care of these complaining people.

This may sound odd - but I've known that God is kind - but not to the incredible degree as now - God continues on - helping, guiding, explaining, caring for, protecting. I see even more kindness in God, and I knew He was kind before.

Immensity of Goodness - that's our God!

  2. God is our provider!! food, water, safety, and causal... sure didn't say that everyone was living high on the hog. Do health, wealth followers read the bible?
Loved this reading. God is so good and people and such self centered winners ... I know the rest of the story and do the same thing.. So I see God in today's reading as Provider, Loving, SLOW to anger, Full of mercy and grace, Wise, SLOW to anger!, totally in control.
