  1. The importance of the blood really stands out to me. Interesting to me to know the the curse on Canaan and the "ites" knowing what is to come.... Again God knows the end from the beginning lots to ponder here.. I can remember reading this as a false convert and thing how boring all thees names... now I "see" how they all come together and where they are going.. Thankful for new eyes people so thankful!! I know I will see even more as I grow in Christ.. WOW what a blessing!

  2. This is wonderful! John and I are really enjoying it and we are actually getting along; isn't God amazing? ha ha Seriously, I have a question for everyone: For whom did God create the rainbow as a remembrance of His covenant with man to not destroy the earth by flood again? Read Genesis 9:13-16. I never noticed this before. What a wonderful God Who actually talks with us through His word. Love Him, Love it

  3. Whew! This was too much to read this morning at the usual time, so I read and reread tonight. Packed - packed with the precious mercy of our living and true God! Threaded through (as a sweet tapestry) with God's everlasting promises!

    Man's sins - God's rescues! Hallelujah!

I am almost speechless, but not quite:

What hits me most in these chapters is this:
    1. God always has had, has now, always will have a Perfect Plan for the world He created. Man's sinfulness can never thwart our perfect God.
    2. Noah was blessed beyond measure that his Lord and God carefully, in great detail, issued and carried through an elaborate rescue plan for him and his family. We are blessed beyond measure also!
    3. The "bow" God set. We all learn of the rainbow is a sign that God won't again destroy the world through a flood. But to read these words (that are repeated 3 times in different ways, "set My bow" - it comes to life to me! It's not, "Oh, look, a rainbow." It's "God set a bow in the sky as a sign of an everlasting covenant." Wow!
    4. The word "covenant" is said 7 times in Chapter 8 in 6 verses. Not merely that, but it's God saying, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations." Repeatedly, God issues grace and mercy.

Even though I read chapters 8-11, I am really stopped by the huge, astounding picture of God's mercy and provision for those who follow Him alone. I love you, Lord!
