  1. For sure how things work out in this world (in appearance) does not reflect what eternity will be or what the heart is now.
One thing for Jobs friends... We know what is going on in heaven in this story.. They do not,, I'm not to sure if not for this book itself I would at least think some of the same... And we know the rest of the story now and about our redeemer... Much to ponder on and feed on once again!!! I guess this will just be powerful everyday! who am I that God would give me this. And its just here all I had to do is eat it! ... free will... choice... well I guess I will stop thinking out loud! lol Prayer time should be deep and all the more wonderful spending this much time listing to Him... ponderous.....

  2. Praise the Lord for His Word which teaches, convicts and lifts us up to Him. We see in Chapter 21 when Job is speaking, that prosperity and abundance keeps people from seeing a need for God, let alone salvation. We see also that death is the great equalizer--we all die and are eaten by the same worms.
Then Eliphaz brings us the "Prosperity Gospel" in verses 27-29. As Solomon says, there is nothing new under the sun. ha ha
Personally, after reading Chapter 23, I have a better understanding that we must seek and obey God because He is God, not because we benefit from it, but because we fear Him and love Him. We are too selfish to receive reward to our choices because we would just do what it takes for us to be content. As we learn in the New Testament, we are incapable of wanting to be in the Light nor of achieving it. It is the gift of God, eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
