Day 7 Job Chapters 14-16
After today we will have completed our first week of Eating Bread Together!!! Keep going brothers and sister. Oh how we grow in the Lord when we are in His Word.
Good morning, friends- I listened to this while cleaning my room, then went back and read it too. That was helpful today.
Job's continued pain - Eliphaz's continued charges. Interesting to read this knowing the reason God allowed Job to suffer and "the rest of the story."
Job's pensive talk about the finality of death in chapter 14 is interesting.
My favorite verse is tucked into another discourse in chapter 16:19 "Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high." Even though his terrifying suffering and "friendly advice," Job maintains that God is his witness and his advocate. That is important (understatement!).
Yeah, Susie, but did you notice 14:14-17 "If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my struggle I will wait until my change comes. You will call, and I will answer You. You will long for the work of Your hands. For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin. My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and You wrap up my iniquity." I love these blips into the work of Christ. We too, caught the preciousness of 16:19. It is wonderful dining together on our Lord's most holy words.
The friends are not help and I can just see me doing the same thing and have... but at the same time in that who got the glory? God always God always He gets the glory even when we mess up. I'm thankful today to have sinners for friends and thankful that God will get the glory He should from this sinner as I try to grow up in Him, even when I fail. Oh Job keep on looking to the Lord... Seems to me he has seen more of the Lord in his suffering then he had known before it came...

There is so much in Job! So much more in God!
